Coca Cola Scam on Facebook

The Coca Cola scam on Facebook promises to show you a video revealing the “truth” about Coca-Cola, but all it’s really a phishing scam.

The message reads: “I am part of the 98.0% of people that are NEVER gonna drink Coca Cola again after this HORRIFIC video,” followed by a link.

The link asks you to share the video seven times.  After trying to share the video you will realize you are not getting anywhere and will be tempted to click on a link that says “Cant Be Bothered To Wait? –> Click Here To Skip This.”

The second link takes you to a poll, which is just a means of phishing for your personal information. Don’t fall for the Coca Cola scam on Facebook, don’t click on any links, just close it if you opened it.

The complete guide to Identity Theft

It is easy to tell when the economy is doing bad because the number of scams go up, and so do the number of identity theft cases. We have been asked numerous times regarding how to protect against identity theft. Well the Wall Street Journal has a great guide on the subject that everyone should read. The time it takes to learn about identity theft only takes minutes, but the time it takes to recover from identity theft could take years. Here is the guide I am referring to: The Wall Street Journal.
